I am wanting some venison to make jerky with and would be willing to split the jerky when it was done with whoever wants to donate. I have made some beef jerky but it gets pricy pretty quick

FS, I used to make a bunch of jerky from my venison. But now I just get it from a good buddy. Here's why: You can take a solid 1'x1' block of meat and when done you end up with one small sandwich bag of finished product. Also, I would spend a lot of time producing the jerky and me and my buddies would consume in 5 minutes what took days to make.

I'm not trying to discourage you at all. I just think the best way to do a batch of venison jerky is to use a whole ham if not 2, so you have enough to make a decent batch. Most deer hunters, like myself, have the freezer full of "cuts" and it would take a bunch of rump roasts to make any decent amount. I told you last year, that you are welcome to come up and pop a doe on my place. I hope you'll come get one next year! I have too many does!
