Yup. Saddleback caterpillar, Acharia stimulea. Found one on one of my apple trees a couple days ago. Don't pet it.

Even the sorry lazy members of the insect world have figured out how to get the other insects to support their kids, reminds me of the welfare and food stamp system. If this happens to offend you, I'm probably talking about you. LOL.
 
I had two in my garden munchin on my Tabasco pepper plants this week. Little suckers must have a taste for spicy stuff!

If stung pull all the hairs/barbs out. The'll keep oozing toxin for a while if you don't.
