Does anyone know where I can get the vinyl carpet installed in my boat for a decent price? I love my boat but it is like any other aluminum in that it is hot in the summer like an iron skillet and real noisy. I want to get the whole boat done on the inside.
Thanks in advance.

vinyl carpet ? do you mean outdoor carpet ? If you don't have any carpet in it its easy to DIY.

I've done carpet in 5 of my boats and friends boats .. just measure width and length of the area you want to cover, get some can get the glue you need from bps http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/s...toreId=10151&catalogId=10001&partNumber=44897
its 24.99

Also can get glue other places the glue BPS sells is sold by value carpet in Dalton, the carpet you can get at Lowes or in Dalton make sure you get UV protected carpet . Just cut to size by placing in the boat and dry cut before placing glue down.

You can also get bed liner coating to do areas of your boat that will get fish guts etc on it , will deaden sound and not be as hot to touch in summer, it comes in many colors white, grey, black , etc.. I'd be willing to help you do it if you want to bring boat and stuff to my house , in trade for a catfish trip

It is not really carpet like you would think of carpet. It is vinyl like the old vinyl tops on cars only much better. G3 offers it on all of their boats and it is washable as vinyl siding on your house but has a kind of rough texture. As far as DIY is concerned carpeting and flooring is about all that I won't try. I would rather hire somebody that is a pro. I can't spend much time working on my knees like I did when I was younger. I may go the route of the bedliner stuff but will try to get the vinyl first.

Thanks for the link David I believe that is what I need. Did you happen to price it at all. I'm sure yours and mine would be about the same price since they are the exact same boat other than the console location. I e-mailed them anyway.

I did email them about a year or so ago and just for the custom fit floor mat I think they wanted around $280. My home computer crashed yesteday so I donkt have the actual email anymore so this is just an estimate...I wanted something reversible with no glue that I could just throw in the floor so this seems like a good solution - I'm not sure how durable it is over time and how much water it might absorb. I think its made of neoprene material like a 1/2" thick mousepad.

If it doesn't glue down how does it keep from blowing out. The boat itself is not a speed machine but I do drive 70 plus mph on the interstate.
I was expecting to pay up to $300 or so that the neo mats are getting more attractive.

"Carpet-schmarpet" That indoor/outdoor stuff is nasty. Alternative rubberized custom pad???
There have been a couple discussions suggesting a spray in bed liner in aluminum boats, It can be one of several light colors. A light color will keep it cool. The texture will be non-skid. It will quieten down your boat both from noises you make in the boat as well as water slap while running. It will greatly strengthen your boat as well. It will seal all those cracks where your dropped hooks jump into. Have a thicker layer on the floor with a coarse pattern with thinner side walls as it tapers to the top inside edge. The seat tops are sprayed as well in a medium texture. It will not add very much weight to your boat. All your hatches and opens will still work the same. That will greatly improve your boat and be warranteed for life.

The cost will most likely be about the same.

I am looking for a flat bottom boat so as to have this done just for the heck of it to show.

The Styx River mat is $225 for the floor.$145 for the front deck and $155 for the rear deck so I probably won't be going that route. Just under $600 with shipping is a little much so I will look into the bedliner stuff or continue to look for the vinyl carpet.
Thanks,

Its a long shot but Sparta Carpets in Dalton deals pretty big in the marine industry. Try asking for Jim, Tony or Chris Ledford. If they have it and you want to get it from them...PM me.
