Everyone,

I've finally decided to sell my Viper Coral 202 Fish N Ski Boat. It is a 2000 model and is in very good condition, more on that later. It has a 2000 model Merc 225 EFI engine that has I'm sure less than 400 hours on it, probably much less. I am the second owner since new and I've owned it since 2004. I specifically looked all over for this model fish and ski because it has the reputation as being the best and is more fishing than ski, although it makes a terrific ski or tube pulling machine. I've always ran mid grade gas, Merc Premium Plus oil, and Quickleen in every tank. Everything works and it runs really good. They only made around 250 of these boats and they have a "cult" following. Look up viper coral on bass boat central. I drove to Dallas TX in 2004 to pick this boat up. It has a MK 72 lb 24V hand controlled trolling motor. I had some back / leg trouble so I liked the hand control motor to take strain off my lower back. I've put a handle extension on it and it works great. I also put a momentary foot switch on it and this system works great. I added a 6" Detwiller jack plate and the boat has a 25P Merc Tempest prop in excellent shape. This boat is very efficient as it has the same hull as the Viper Cobra bass boat with a fish N ski cap. It will cruise at 47 to 49 mph on gps at only 4000 rpm and top end is around 70 mph depending on load. It has a great ride, a 45 gallon live well with timer, rod lockers up front that will handle 7' rods and another locker in the floor that can handle rods, skis and such. I have the ski pylon and braces and also a bimini top for the boat along with a $800.00 dean's canvas custom boat cover. The boat has not sit out in the weather, it is stored under my deck which covers 90% of it and the nice cover takes care of the rest. I had over $8000.00 of work done on this boat in 2012 after it was damaged in the Ooltewah tornado. The walk through windshield was replaced including the frame, the seats were all repaired (just a few small tears), the trailer jack was replaced, the outboard was refinished and painted including new decals. I'm telling you for a 2000 year boat it is sharp as the pictures I'll try to include will show. Why am I selling - as I said it sits under my deck behind my house and is a real pain in the "neck" to get out and put back. I purchased a 17' Lowe aluminum bass boat a couple of years ago that fits in my garage and is real easy to hook up and go so that is what I'm using to fish. I used the Viper only twice last year and only once the year before. Polo has borrowed it the last couple of years around the 4th of July and he can tell you what kind of boat it is. It really does perform great and is the ideal boat for someone who has a family but also likes to fish. This boat has what you need to fish tournaments one day and take the family for criusing and water fun the next. We really enjoyed it but my kids are grown and gone now. I just don't use it so why let it sit? This is to give all my CFF family a heads up before I really start listing it on Craigslist and Bass Boat Central in March. If you are interested please send me a PM. I'm asking $15K or best reasonable offer. Remember over $8K was put into this boat in 2012 with little use since.

So are we changing our name to Loweman? ;) Jmax

Jmax, very funny emoLaugh . First of all it isn't sold yet, I know I should sell it but I do hate to see it go. In any case I won't be "Loweman" emoHoppingmad What kind of name is that emoScratch . Even without the Coral I'll always have a soft spot in my heart for Viper boats. It has been and is a great boat. emoWorthy .

choo choo i hate to see you get rid of that beauty. if i had the money it would look real good sitting next to my cobra (same year and color scheme) . if i am not mistaken it aslo had a lot of the same features as my cobra. like hydrolic steering , lighted live wells and storage and hydrolic arms on the bigger deck lids. it shouldnt last long on BBC

M17, you are correct - lighted rod compartments, hydraulic steering, etc. Viper really made a great boat and were ahead of the times in a lot of ways. From what I've been able to find their quality was great but their business managers weren't so good and that is what put them under. I think the last Coral was made in about 2003 or maybe 2004. Like I said only 250 of the Coral 202 were ever made total. No other fish and ski boat can come close to the performance and fishability. I really hate to part with it but it is just sitting under my deck and like I said my girls are married and gone so my needs are mainly fishing which the Lowe 17HP in the garage takes care of very well. The Coral will make someone a really nice family boat at a low price for 20' with a 225 and low hours!

I personally like the name of "ChooChooLoweman"!

Think of it this way, you could be a snake in the grass or some guy who is really low. ;) Kind of funny when we all know you are just the opposite of both of those. emoAngel Jmax

ChooChooLoweman --- well let me think about it ---- ok I thought about it and no that won't work. I think I'll just stay ChooChooSnakeMan even when the Viper sells.

Seriously everyone, if you know of someone who is looking for a great family boat but also one they can do some serious fishing out of this is the boat. I'm asking $15K or best reasonable offer so please help me out and spread the word!

Thanks,

I'm looking for a FNS that actually does both...the 202 got excellent reviews. If it's still available in the summer, I'll get with you for a test ride.

Hi Jason,

Yes the Coral, especially the 20' 202 is widely regarded as the best Fish N Ski ever made. Bass Boat Central has a Viper Owners forum and there is a Fish N Ski forum that has a lot of information. I'll send you a PM. I really hate to sell my Snake but my needs have changed and I'm not using it. I'd love to see her go to a good local home emoLaugh

Any chance that this boat is still on the market?

Fishfarmboss - You have a Private Message - please check it. I stopped trying to sell the boat because I got aggravated with all the people who are either just out and out crooks or bargain hunters who wanted to steal it. I have it priced fair - $13600.00 for what it is and its condition so while it is only taking up space at my home I also don't use it since my kids are gone and I have a fishing boat in the garage. I will sell it for cash only and only if it is a clean no hassle sale. I'll just keep it and enjoy it before I give it away or put up with nit-picking low ball bargain hunters looking to take advantage of someone desperate to sell. I don't have to sell it.

SOLD - My Coral has found a new home. I sincerely hope they enjoy it as much as me and my family have! Thanks to all who looked and spread the word.
