If you have been on it 5 or 6 time, then that is 4 or 5 times more than I have been. Sorry that I can't help you. Maybe some of these guys on here can help you out. emoGeezer

I was reading on Bass Fishing Home Page recently, and it looks like a lot of people are catching fish in the upper end in coves and long banks... spinnerbaits and buzzs have been working... check it there.  Good luck!

I'd suggest checking out another Forum... http://www.fishingtn.com/
It's not nearly as popular as CFF, however you will find posts (in "Local Fishing") there by a gentleman named Rick McFerrin. Most will contain subject line "Tims Ford." Rick guides on Tims Ford regularly .... provides good information about his trips.

Haven't been much lately. Did fish for a few minutes Saturday though. Usually this time of year you can take a white SB with white blades along any steep bank in the river where the channel hits, and catch some smallmouth. I threw a bitsy bug (watermelon/blue trailer) less than 15 casts Sat. on a bank like that and had a 17.5" SM and a good Kentucky.

Just go over to Tims ford and put the boat in anywhere and look for places that you think will hold fish just like you do around here and you will probably catch fish. Your second trip will be even better. Use the same baits that you use in your favorite body of water where you now fish and you will do fine.

i get to fish tims about 5 or 6 times a month , my all time favorite is a 8"lizzard, pumpkin w/chart tail , or a plain black worm . long river banks and points , have had some luck with a white single willow spinner and this time of year look out in the open water fir activity , throw a spook !! first cast was a 4.5 LM
good luck

4" zoom dead ringer greenpumkin with 1/8 oz shacky head on points and rocky banks. I've heard crankbaits are hot right now. Did I say fish the points and rocky banks... emoThumbsup Greenpumkin and black and blue jigs as well..

I have fished Tims for about 30 years. Tims has a lot of creeks and with the water starting to cool down I believe I would start out around the mouths of the creeks. Fall night fishing can be excellent on Tims but if your going to fish during the day I would make sure I carried some spinning reels with light line (6 LB) and a hand full of hair jigs. Brown and orange works real good. I have caught lots of smallmouth on 1/16 oz jigs and seldom throw anything bigger than a 1/8 oz. If you happen to catch a fish pay close attention to the small details like what kind of gravel, chunk rock, broke up shell, etc. smallmouth can be patterned pretty easy on Tims. If you put in mid-lake ( DEVIL STEP) I would run down lake. Some of my favorite creeks are Little hurricane, Big hurricane, Willis lake, Jolly rock. On Tims gravel is good year round especially dirty gravel and pea gravel. Hope this helps and good luck. Try the restaurant in the back of lick creek (HOLIDAY LANDING) THEY HAVE GREAT FOOD.
