Anyone used a Vortex Viper 6.5-20x50? The reviews look similar to some of the Leupolds but at a better price. Thinking about putting one on a 300 Win Mag. ..............Thanks - Hal

I've got the 6-20x50 vortex. Bought it last year and put it on my .264 win mag. I love it. Shot a doe at 375 yds with it. We'll see how well it holds up over time but I like it so far. from what I hear the warranty is unbeatable. Works well in low light conditions which is one of the most important factors in my opinion. I would recommend to anyone.

Thanks, that's the kinda info I'm looking for. Sounds like you're pretty well pleased with this scope. Now if I can just find a good used one for a good price I'd be happy ;) Thanks again.......Hal

I have both Nikon and Vortex. I love both but I do think the glass in the nikon is a tad better. Seems a bit clearer to me. Gathers light a litte better too.

I have several Vortex scopes and for the money they are great. I had one last year that would not hold zero and they replaced it without hesitation. On the flip side I also have several Leupold that are unbeatable optics unless you start dropping some serious cash, they gather light better and are crystal clear. I have an older Leupold 3-9x40 on a 17hmr and it has been beat to death and still as accurate as the day I bought it.

I have a Leupold VX-3 6.5X20 on a bull barrel 700 and it is a great scope, clear as can be even at max mag. I just hate to shell out the $1000+ to get another one :( Would love to have a Leupold Varmit or Mil Dot but that's a lot of cash!
Sounds like the Vortex has a pretty good rep so maybe I can find a used one of either.

Vortex binoculars and scopes have the best warranty in the business and are quality. Their higher end products are as good as any at less money.

Better warranty than Leupold?
