I have a 1989 Johnson 90hp model TJ90TLCEM with a disabled VRO pump. A time or two last summer I suspected that I was having fuel pump problems. I have not been able to find which parts I need to rebuild the fuel side of the pump. Does anyone have this information or is there a fuel only pump I could use?

I had a `97 225 Johnny ...when the pump went bad I was able to get one without the VRO part of the pump. It was somewhat cheaper than a full blown VRO fuel pump. I believe I ordered it thru my dealer Bunch Marine...a standard replacement part minus vro

Steve, wrenchin is correct just change over to a standard fuel pump with 3 lines mix your gas at 50 to 1 16 oz of oil to six gallons of gas and go fishing

Thanks guys, that is the information I was hoping for. I do have a couple of questions. I assume the diaphragm is included in the fuel pump assembly, are other parts included also? Can I completely remove the VRO pump or are there safety switches that require it to be there?

It will come as a kit with gasket and all. You wil also need to order PN# 0321164 which is a plug for the pulse limiter on the VRO. That and some fuel line and you wil be ready to. You will simply have a electrical plug from the VRO that you will need to secure to the main harness. Pretty simple job. Hardest part will be getting the VRO pump off. Just my .02
