Well it is getting close to turkey time but not close enough! Can't wait to hit the woods again in search of the birds! Here are a couple of pics from one of my hunting cams recently:

Never have understood the fascination of hunting turkeys, although I do enjoy chirping around with a turkey call. I have called up several nice toms, just messing around.

Oh man, your hurting me bad talking about turkey's this early in the year!

I'm looking forward to hearing that first hammer of the year. It used to be in early march in the FLA. swamps, not sure if I am gonna have time for that this year. Either way, I having been playing with my calls a bit, and I cant wait!!!!

Yep. Gotta' think about getting Old Ugly limbered up for a pattern shot or two. I was in WallyWorld the other day looking for a minnow bucket and noticed that they already had the calls out. Went ahead and picked me up two more of the SonicDome singles. Had good luck with them last season.

Wow Danny, your more of a man than me!

Killing a mature gobbler is tough enough, but with a flint-lock! WOW. You have my respsect.

I prefer my Mossberg 935 topped with a Tru-point sight, and a 3.5" hull loaded with 2.5 oz of Hevi-shot, custom-stuffed by Nito Company out of MO. http://nitrocompany.com/

I dont hesitate out to 75 yards, and would take a further shot if it was all I could get. Devestating on BOTH ends though.

Old Ugly was assembled with spare parts that were laying around the shop. The barrel was off of a 36" H&R 12 ga., full choke, and later I had her jug-choked. I threaded the breech and put in a threaded rod and had it welded it up. Originally she was a percussion gun, but the fever got to me and I converted her to flint. She loads with 100 gr. of 2F blackpowder, a 3/4" card, a chewed-up paper napkin, another card, 1-1/2 oz. of shot (usually #4's), and another card. Trouble is, she's so light that she kicks like a government mule. She's still fun to hunt with, though.

cant wait myself have never been turkey hunting but i did marry one. a buddy mine is going to take me when it open and teach me how to hunt them CANT WAIT will post picture if i get one,
