I have a like new Taurus .357 Mag snub nose revolver. model 605B2 It has the 2" barrel and 5 shot capacity. I have the original box and manuals. It has only been shot about 50 times. It is a great house or car gun. A little heavy for concealed carry all the time but can be done. The reason I'm selling is that the hammer and trigger pull is just too heavy for my wife. Paid $350. at Sportsman's Warehouse. Will sell for $315 with about 50 rounds of FMJ .38 special and 25 rounds of Gold Hollow Point .38 Special +P ammo.

Here is a link to it http://www.taurususa.com/product-details.cfm?id=240&category=Revolver&toggle=tr&breadcrumbseries=CC2

Would be willing to trade for smaller framed auto in either a .38 or .22 Mag. I don't conceal carry. It is mainly a house gun.

Jason....

Have you though about having the gun worked on. Getting the trigger pull and hammer adjusted to a lower poundage?

That or how about getting a .380? The missus shouldn't have any problems using one.

You may already know this; but it's a little smaller caliber than a 9 mm but so much lighter and smaller than a .38 and packs more of a whollop than a .22 mag and may be equal to or potent than the .38's. emoEnforce

Just trying to help. Seems like the folks at Sportsmen were more interested in a sale; than the benefits of the intended user.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm not really inclined to put money into a gun in that price range.

I would consider a .380 as well.

In defense of SW. She wasn't with me when I bought the gun for her to try holding it. I feel the guy made the best reccomendation based on my input of what I was looking for and my price range. At that time, I was really hung up on the .357 for its versatility in ammo it would accept. It was also meant to be a gun to take backpaking and also as a back-up when deer hunting. After being a little more realistic, we don't hike in bear country enough to really need to worry. It is probably more likely to come across some psycho in the woods that a bear- which a .380 would take care of.

My main goal now is to have a good quality pistol that she can shoot confidently without it taking her wrist off. She is only 5'1" and very small framed and hands.

Any suggestions on what I could find for under $300?

you need a keltec 380, its small, easy to shoot, and can do some damage. and i bought mine for $280, dont know how much they are now but they are good guns. IN MY OPINION

The KelTech 380 is one of the best little carry or home weapons on the market. The only draw back the ammo is hard to find right now and rather costly when you do find it.

That is why I sold mine. I like to shoot a lot and I will not have a gun that ammo is not readily accessible for. If I were going to get a semi auto for a small framed woman I would look into the Kel-Tec PF9. It is larger than the 380 but still quite small and thin. Even low powered 9mm is better than the 380 round and the PF9 is much more manageable recoil wise. Prices are coming back down to earth on all of the KT's. I saw several new pistols yesterday for $269 plus tax.

Yes the P3AT is a great carry gun, but recoil is a beech, and after showing her how to shoot it, she will be timid of using it. Take Cheez's advice and go with a P-11 or PF9. JMHO.
