I got into drop shotting last year and LOVE it! It's like Aaron Martin's says, He love's catching them on reaction baits but when the bite is tough and there is a lot of pressure that drop shot is great! We cast it a lot just like a shakey head and also mark deeper fish and drop straight down on them. I really like the robo worm with a gamakatsu G-lock worm hook in size 1 or 1/0 on my dropshot. This way I can keep the worm weedless and still get more than enough action with it. Tie a palomar knot and leave a 12-16 inch tag end from the hook to the weight. Bring the tag in back through the top of the eye of the hook. That's about as good of a set up as you can get if there is cover or rocks to hang up on. If no cover just leave the hook exposed. I also like the Cylinder or bell Drop Shot Weights. It's worked great all year and have caught some really nice ones. If you really want some confidence, just wait till post spawn and you can literally catch 50-100 fish a day on that thing.
