Went to the tournament for Healthy Kids out of HBSP. I came to the realization that we had a later start than I wanted. We could have left out at 6:00 and seen just fine but the Blast Off was not until 7:00. Finally got under way and most folks went up river Rmax and I went down. The first place where we caught seven last Saturday did not even yeild a hit. I knew we were in trouble. The next stop I just knew would have a few and sure enough on about the 10th cast with a eight inch worm I got a hard hit. Set the hook and the line broke.emoBang Than Ryan hung up with a $15 lucky craft right in the middle of the spot.emoAngry I didn't want to loss the bait so I messed up the spot and went into it and got it back. You ever start to think you should have stayed home. Finally about thirty minutes later had another hit and in came a thirteen incher. I gave up that spot and went to the next, Five bass, two almost fifteen but not quit. Next spot really started nailing the bass five fish later and finally boated the first keeper 16 and 1/2 inches.emoSmile That proved to be the only keeper of the day. We fished several areas and boated around 25 bass and had about ten over fourteen inches but only the one over fifteen. High winds and blue bird sky was not what I wanted to see. One boat came through by us around 1 and Ryan asked how they were doing and they said they had managed five keepers about 12lbs on spinner baits and jigs.emoScratch It just was not in the cards for us. At 2:45 with just the one I told Ryan that if it was all the same with him we would skip the weigh in since we had launched out of wolftever and just go on home. He was game so I do not know what won it. It was still a nice day on the water with my son and we did have some good laughs. He did hook a huge carp around 40 to 50 lbs and it would not come off. He had a blast fighting that thing. It must have been 20 minutes later he had finally wore it down and I got up to it and when it saw the boat it took off and it tore off. At least we got our bait back.

If someone went to the wiegh in what won????emoScratch Jmax

It was a great day, what more could a fisherman want., full moon, cold front, bluebird sky and wind.emoBang emoBang emoBeer It took 19plus pounds to win the PFHC. I have know idea how they did it but I sure wish I could do it just once. We started out good. Had one right at 15" then had one that went 3.46lbs.. After that it was straight down hill. not to many did real good. Saw a few double figuire sacks and big fish that I saw was just under 7 lbs.. i guess I start thinking about Weiss next sat. If anybody has any advice besides don'go e-mail me. Put them back well.

Hey Jmax, it was pretty tough on the other end too. USA Bassin, 9+ won with 4 fish, 2nd had a limit but 3-4 were spots. Got slower for us as the day went on.

Yea, doesn't sound as if we were alone. I also talked to a couple guys that had blanked on keepers. I struggle on the chick in this kind of weather and I guess I just don't know where to go to get size. Qauntity was not the problem but size was the issue. I could not buy a fish on top today and that is unusal for me. I think I spent too much time trying to feed them instead of letting them tell me what they wanted. You know what they say,"Hind sight is always 20/20,";) Jmax

Good report Jmax...Not what we were wanting to hear tho. Glad you and Ryan had a goodtime. It's good to keep them interested and not wear the time thin. I know you said before that he got burnt out at an early age on fishing and is just now wanting to get back in it. Glad you had a good day on the water even tho it was "short fish" day. emoLaugh Thanks for the report and the responses.

Jmax, maybe we should create a database of CFF cell numbers and make a few calls on the water when we are in a pinch. My younger brother called me from Booker T on Saturday morning and said that he was catching so many quality largemouth on his spinnerbait that he couldn't keep the frame straight. With one call, I could have passed that tidbit on to you. Is that legal in tournaments?

BTW, good call on skipping the weigh-in for Ryan's sakeemoThumbsup.
