Water generation questions...

Hello everyone!
I am still wanting to get into a mess of white bass but with chickamauga dam operating 4 or more generators, (basically wide open) I have not had any luck? My question is: does the super swift water make them not want to hit or seem scarce? All I can catch are the Tn Tarpon!

I would think they would still be up in that current break below the ramp. I got out up river in my boat today for 40 min and caught 19 Lm and huge white bass on the rig. Was catching a lot of doubles too. They seem to be everywhere I go honestly

Willyb, awesome thanks for the info! tho i think, Weiss is about 1.5 to two hrs from me. long ago i fished the Coosa river near there tho. For any others that can give me an answer.... i guess i was always under the assumption that when they were generating below said dam, meant that they were lowering the lake above. is this true?? so if this IS the case, if they are wanting to bring lakes up to summer pool at some point, then why are they generating while lakes above are still at winter pool??

Go to Weiss lake you can catch them on about every cast right now.

Always wanted to try Weiss Lake. They said last year was giving up 25lb bags regular.

You are correct. The reason for them lowering it is bc of all the rain we got a while back. They don't actually start bringing the water back up till April. Here is a link to show you the pattern the last few years.</p>

I like fishing Wiess better than guntersville.

31 lbs won the winter trail 3 weeks ago, largest bag I've ever heard. They were all LM and BF was 7.86...</p>
