Water Levels on Chickamauga.....

I noticed yesterday the water had come up considerable amount since Saturday. I heard from a friend in Dayton that TVA were planning on bringing to water to full pull early this year. Is this true? Normally it's mid May before it's full, I think. Anybody know for sure what their plans are?

First I have heard of an early rise, but watching the chart, it is above last year by about a foot right now. With all the rain coming down north of us, it will fill up fast, or they will have to run a TON ow water for a while.</p>

TVA has predicted levels to rise 1.6ft over the next 2 days. Water level Sunday night should be 680..... It is right now 678.27

It should unless TVA drops the lake drastically in a few days. Bass and crappie are just now beginning to go on beds.

I have lived on the water on Chickamauga for the last 17 years and in most years the water is brought from winter pool to summer pool over the first two weeks of April. I know that the guide shows that May 15th is the target but in most years they only give it two weeks. With the rains that we are expected to have it could be that the water will be up early but TVA could decide that they want to only bring it up slowly or they may let it come up and then bring it back down and let it come up slowly. If the water temp is 60-65 when the next full moon comes around, and that should be the 20th I would expect the crappie to spawn. If it's a bit warmer, the bass will spawn. If TVA brings the water down some after that it might be a bad spawning year. I watch for this most every year but usually the water is up and stays up after the 15th. Some years the water is a bit warmer and it's more of an issue. I don't expect that the bass will spawn much this go round unless we get some really warm rain or lots of sunshine.

I am trying to do some expansion on my dock and the water is really coming up quick this week. I called TVA Friday and asked what they were planning this year. She said they wanted to fill it half way to summer pool this first week and then fill the rest thru May 15th. I asked if they were going to drop it back down any during this period and she said they were not planning on it but she couldn't guarantee it.
