Put in at Ladds Landing in Kingston around 1:00. My starting battery was deademoBang so I switched batteries around and went fishing with the 12v side of the trolling motor. Went up the Emory and it was clear and cold at 41 degrees. Went back down to Kingston below the steam plant and it was 52 degrees. Saw some fish breaking on shad and started throwing a fat free shad in pearl white. Caught 2 keepers and one was an 18 inch smallie the other a 16 inch largemouth the rest were spots. All were caught between 8' and 12'. Turned out to be an O.K. day even though I only had half a trolling motor.emoToast

I was actually down river past the bridge. Started at the rocky bank across from kingston city park and worked upstream. Crossed the river and fished the docks below the bridges on the left side, I had the wind at my back on this section. I went in to the cove where the discharge is and went back into the creek there. Water was real warm there at 58 degrees but you had to wait in line to fish there.

Jon,

I'll be up there visiting the family sometime in June... maybe we can get together...have you tried Riley's Creek? My grandpa destroyed some Smallmouth back there recently on Shad Raps.

Keep me updated on the status of the Obed float trip... I'll need to possible put in for leave here at work.

Take care,
Brandon

Riley creek is a great place. My inlaws live in the neighbor near the campground. Great Crappie fishin in there. When you come up this way in June we can try the trip down the obed then if you have the time. If not we can work out something. ;)

Wow, water temps that warm all winter long would almost for sure keep the bass and other fish really active. It would be great to live near a place like that.
