went down to Thief Neck and fished with a friend. We had a good day with 8 fish 7 of which were keepers the bigggest is in the pic at 4 1/2 lbs. Caught'em on the SB in a prespawn pattern on secondary rocky points with isolated cover. All were 4-8 ft deep. Water was stained and 62 degrees.

You think I would smile with a fish like that, but I was a little wore out by then.

I grew up fishing just below thief neck,But I haven't been up there in years. How's it been?
I watched my uncle land an 8lber in a little cut just down river from there when I was a kid.I think that was the moment I was hooked on fishing for life!

It has been fairly good. The water coming up did help, but it was abrupt. It rose 1 1/2 ft in two days after the rain. I like that area because there is a good current and alot of rocks and stumps in deeper water.

Nice fish jon. Glad your still on them. What blades you using on SB? I usually throw Colorado but seems like early on the willow will win out. Thanks for the report.emoThumbsup

Gold willow is what was working for me, but my partner who also caught fish was using a silver colorado.

I think it just makes them mad enough to bite. I like the willow because when I slow roll it, the bait goes a little deeper.
