Watts Bar 7-8-06 night

I went down to thief neck last night around 7 PM. Started around some humps and had a good bite and when I set the hook, snap the rod broke. After that, I realized I was hung. Kind of slow until 10:04 PM when I got my next bite. This fish felt good and when I got it in, it measured 21 1/2". I would guess 5 1/2 lbs. I caught it on the edge of a flat next to deep water. The fish was only 8' deep. it was caught on TR magnum dead ringer in Tequila sunrise. I caught 3 that measured 15 1/8" and 4 that were less than 14" all on the same worm. I threw SB and got a few bites but could not land them. Water was 82 degrees and shad were everywhere. It was almost a full moon last night, and made for a great evening on the water. I was alone, which was great for having some time to rest and regain my thoughts.

Good report. Glad to hear you had better luck finding fish than I did. I went out for a couple hours last night and only managed one fish. Just couldn't find any.

I looked for you this weekend, but never did see you. Let me know next time you're going to be fishing the Bar and want someone to tag along.

I'll do it. If you are out and see a Norris Craft Fish/ski Black/creme/red accent stripe with a 200 merc, that would be me. I might get out there tonight or tomorrow morning depending on how much work I get done.
