Watts Bar 8-16-06 night

Well I went last night to Caney Creek and rode down to the Sheilds Bar area. Started out fishing the islands with the worm, and after an hour I finally got my first bite. I set the hook, and it swam towards the surface and got off. It did not jump so I never saw it, but it felt like a decent fish. I noticed alot of lightning towards Athens and looked on my phone and it was storming and moving west, so I went ot the ramp and fished around there. I got one more bite up there and it broke my line, and I did see it jump with my worm and it was maybe a pound. Slow night for me, not many bites and no fish actually landed so I got that dreaded skunk in my boat last night.

You should have called my wife and let her pray for you and not to get skunked.. It worked for me yesterday, but it was a drum.... I guess one cannot be chosey when you are getting skunked...LOLemoBigsmile emoBigsmile

You didn't get skunked . There have been nights on the Bar I wished I could have just set the hook on one . Now that's getting skunked ! Funny how one night you can catch some good ones and the next ....zip , nothing ! Thats Watts Bar for you though .

Hey JTF, getting skunked still beats sitting at home watching HGTVemoLaugh!That's what I was doing while you were fishing, and I would have been much happier getting skunked on the water.

JTF , I am gonna have to line up a guideed trip from you one night. At least you are getting bites and having fun. Whats the water temps up there now?

Fisherpal, come on up and we will at least try to tear'em up. The water was 84 in most places I saw.
