Went today last day of my vacation. Debated between the Dam and Cottonport. Went to the Dam caught 3 large mouth 2 keepers and one that was on the border of being a keeper. The largest weighed 2.15 lbs. Caught them all on a Culprit 7.5 worm in moccassuim color. The came off or around brush in 6-9' had several other hits but think they were either small or gills. Some of the hits felt like the ones you get when they are on the bed the whirling bumps. Also caught 2 smallmouths on a small crawfish pattern crank bait. They were about 10-12" long but still fun to catch. The water temp on my stuff was anywhere from 79 -83.4. Hope this helps some one.

Did you catch the fish close to shore or were they on offshore flats? Were they out on the main lake or in sloughs? Did you try along the dam? Did you see any groups of shad? I don't know anything about Watts Bar except what I've seen on maps of the lake. Is it a clear lake or is the water about the same as Chickamauga?

The fish I caught were put fairly close to the bank in about 6-9 ft of water. They came on the back side or deep end of brush. I was off in a slough of such much like Harrison Bay is on the Chick. I did not fish up around the Dam. The rip rocks there are good at night. The water is much like Chick but with out the vegatation. I did see small shiners all over the places did not get any hits around them as much as I tried too. The bite was on a worm or a small crankbait like a weecraw.
