Well I had the honor of fishing with the forum legend Jmax. I met him at the dam this morning at 6:45 and we were off. We went and hit some islands first. I was throwing a spinnerbait and hooked the first few on it, a couple of smallies and one nice largemouth that never made it to the boat. We went up river and tried some deeper coves and then Jmax hooked a couple largemouth on A CR worm. Then after a few hours of no bites, we headed to the dam. We noticed alot of current right above the dam and white bass schooling a little. We hooked up on a few of those each on topwater, then came the rain. We left at 2:30 and no keepers in the boat. Slow day to say the least. I enjoyed it Jmax, and we need to do it again...oh and I'll have that 10$ for you next weekend. I made a fuss about paying for gas and forgot to bring money, and I offered to go to an ATM but he would not do it...I guess so he can give me crap about it all weekemoLaugh emoDoh

Nice report jon. I always enjoy reading your reports. On the way to the lake this morning I was debating on whether to fish above the down or below it and decided to go for below it. From your report it sounds like we made a good decision. I like catching bass but when it boils down to it I just like fishing.

Oh and I know whatcha mean bout that $$ and fishing with people. I've got a couple fellers from work that I like fishing with. Neither of them have a boat and it wasn't long ago I didn't have one so I know what it's like to wanna go and not have access. But I think some times they are being overly generous when it comes to it. I don't mind paying for gas and all that stuff but when they hand you $40 or so and say "if you don't take it you can just pull over now and I'll walk" what do you say? They bring snack food and plenty of Mtn Dews and Gatoraide every trip.

Yeah I had fun too. I did laugh all the way home that JTF kept bringing up paying for the gas. I at first said no but since he brought it up again I said o.k., than let's say $10 and call it even. Got out his wallet and he was broke.emoLaugh Can't help but laugh. JTF let's do it again.emoThumbsup Jmax

You know fisherpal you may have a good point there. I would much rather have a place to swing by and eat a biscuit when I get hungry on the lake than have the ten for gas.emoLaugh That's a much better idea. Man, where were you yesterday when I could have used that suggestion.emoBigsmile Jmax

I also wanted everyone to know that the one he shook off his spinnerbait so I wouldn't look bad was about a 4 or 5 lber, but by the time we left the lake it had grown to the new state record so if anyone catches the new record on Watt's that was JTF's that got away yesterday.emoLaugh

I fished the same day, saw those two sitting in front of the dam when I left. It was tough for me too. 7 fish 1 keeper, all largemouth. 2 on a buzz bait the rest on jigs. Hey Jim, can a fella lock through on this one? Its your call.
