went out on weds afternoon out of whites creek. first place caught 7 all 12" plus then nothing. was fishing in about 30 ft but the shad were at 8 had to keep the bait above the shad. was using 1/16 head with a tube. went to 4 other places with no luck. went back thurs afternoon and caught 4 more then was skunked. water temp was still around 49. hopefully things will get better.

Have you fished the hump that is in Whites Creek bay? On the south side of that hump, years ago, I loaded the boat with huge black crappie. We were having such a good time that we didn't notice the boats that surrounded us. I looked around and there were 13 boats that had us in a circle. They were trying to get in on those fish, but couldn't catch a thing. We landed 65 that day. Several were 2 pounds and over. We were anchored up on top of the hump throwing into deep water and working our lures back up the hump. This was in the early days of plastic grub bodies and everyone else that I could see were throwing hair jigs with very little success. emoBigsmile emoGeezer
