Watts Bar Gulls

I was at the powerhouse briefly for work today. As I pulled up there were a lot of gulls working the boils in the tailrace, more than I've seen this year. A boat ran right up into the middle of a frenzy and shut down, I figured they probably got too close and ran over the top of where they should be fishing but they instantly hooked up. Watched them drift downriver and boat a striper, not huge but maybe 10lb range. It's brutal being at the powerhouses and watching people catching fish - just ain't right...

Thanks Team-D - I sure do appreciate gull reports! Is this below Watts Bar Dam or Fort Loudon Dam?

Below Watts Bar, but the "gull activity" has increased below Ft. Loudoun as well.

There was a ton of gulls around thief neck, but most were just sitting. I saw a few diving, but not enough to chase around.

JTF- Most of the gulls I seen working (and previously posted) was between thief neck and shields bar. The last few weeks I have seen loads of stacked arches down on the left channel. Always thought they were cats, never fished for them about 30 feet down. Someday I will drop a spoon, just to get them moving!
