being new to the area, when is the best smallie fishing on watts bar? I would be putting in on the lower end, is this the best smallie fishing within 45min-1hr from hbsp?

We've been steady catching them the past month

hmmmmm, ok. would you say this is the best time of year or have you just gotten on some fish?

I think now is the best time for us anyways. We've caught some in the warmer months but nothing like we have now. We may manage 1 or 2 keeper small mouth a trip in the summer months but we haven't caught a small mouth this winter that hasn't kept.

Hey Rusty, there are Big smallies below the dams. Couple years ago there was a guy who caught one over 10 below chick. Above the dams and below them and around the power plants.

Water color has steady pretty clear it seems to take a lot to get it dirty up there.
