Well, this week was something else. The weather, although very nice it not cooperating with us at all when it comes to fishing. Went out Friday with a client and took the MTSU fishing class to Stewart Creek Saturday. Fishing is tough, I have not been able to fish my best spots recently but as a whole fishing has not been good. I believe summer patterns are still your best shot to catch bigger fish. The shad are not being chased really hard (although they are still flipping everywhere in the back of Stewart) and the bass are waiting for the weather to make up it's mind. I pray that we have cold weather soon. I will be out a couple times next week and be able to dissect these fish and put together a pattern for my clients. I'm also doing a poll for fall fishing, what is your favorite fall pattern? Flippin wood (slow) or chasing the shad bass (fast)?
God Bless and good fishing!

In the fall it's a very good bet that at some time the fish will be chasing and surface plugging will be a viable option. Having thos fish blow up on a Chug Bug is my favorite way to fish all year long and catching 20 to 30 in a day and having twice that many hits is fantastic. One late fall I had a 5, 4, two 3's and some 2+lbers on one short stretch of rip rap bank. They weren't blasting that day but just "slurping" but it was a great string for me.
