I'm wanting to build a web site for my bass club. The problem is I'm almost a computer dummy.....I've been checking out these build your own web sties. There are so many of them that it'sconfusing. Does any any have any experience with any of these build your own web site, sites. Could you share any information on where to go or where to stay away from....I need my clubs web building site to be one that I can post club photo's. stats. tourn. results. point standing. on ect. ect.....I know how I want our web site laid out, I just don't know witch web site builder would be the easiest for me to use.....any info would help thanks....

I have a friend who is webmaster for another fishing website. When I mentioned looking into a free website builder, he flat out said don't do it. His reason was if it is free, the codes are open season and anyone can get on them- no security. My rodbuilding domain is with Godaddy which he said was good for website security.

I have created several websites for groups. When I first started I used Microsoft Publisher. Open a new web page document. There are some ready-made templates you can use. When you are finished you "publish to the web." You'll need a server such as Go Daddy, etc. I use Arvixe. Also, for creating a club standings page, use Excel. Names down the left and points, weights across, etc. across the top. Then you can "save as" a web page. Pick "web page" from the drop down box at the bottom of the save as pop up box.

I am working on a fishing website right now. I have searched the internet for fish related backgrounds. Let me know if you are interested in them. They're free.

Good luck with your site.
