Wanda and I made it out for 4 hours around mid-morning and fished until 1:30.
Boy was it a tough day. We did manage to land 25 crappie of which 18 were keepers. 2 Lm bass, 12 bluegills, 1 yellow bass, 1 drum (I caught this one), and 1 spaat. I am only including the pic of Wanda with a 14" LM Bass. You have seen enought crappie pics from me lately, although we did catch some really nice slabs. I know that Wanda let 5 big ones put off at the boat while trying to lift them over the side and I missed a couple of keepers that pulled off within arm's length. Same lures as yesterday. Panfish stingers and squirming squirt 1" grubs. Well, I'm done for this week. I'm tired and wanna rest for awhile. LOL

Great to hear you got into them again. One question tho. How did you come up with the name Drumking when it should have been Crappie King :)
You have sure caught your share this yr.

I named that myself while Striper fishing several years ago. I always caught either the most or the biggest drum while we were fishing for my favorite fish to eat. I kept telling my partner, that "I'm the drumking" and when I joined the forum, what better handle than that to have? If TVA had any water to run, I would leave these Crappie alone and go catch a few limits of stripers. That's another love that I have. I can catch those rascals pretty good too.

I have only caught 362 keeper crappie this year. (This includes the fish caught by those who went with me.)

362?!?!?! GOOD HEAVENS!!! That's almost one a day for a whole year! emoLaugh

And it's ONLY MARCH!!!

TT

I'm happy with that total since I had my boat in the shop 2 times for nearly 10 days during peak times. Those who went with me caught a large number of these fish. You caught several, I remember.

Drumking, your profile says that your preference is crappie, than stripper. Does that still hold up?emoScratch

Actually, that's right. I had rather fish and fool Crappie. However, I had much rather eat rockfish. We caught so many 2003 that I sort of got burned out on striper fishing. That's the year that Watts Bar had the fire in the control room and couldn't run the turbines, so they had the floodgates open all summer. My partner and I caught 1570 stripers out of my boat and he and whomever he took in his boat landed over 2500 that year. I have caught 5 over 33 pounds, and one that weighed 42.5 pounds. So, the thrill for me is taking someone new and watching their expression when one of those fish takes off like a bus. I'm out of rockfish right now, so I want to fish a little bit and put a few in there. My wife loves them better than I do. We are putting the crappie that I catch into the ministry.
