Southern Anglers had their classic this weekend on watts bar. I grew up in Spring city but still hate this lake. We had 25.59 over two days for third place and $900 bucks. first place was 26 something for $2000. We launched at the dam both days and drove right up through the iron hill cut through and fished all the way up to rockwood. The first day we had to work our tails off to get a limit which weighed 12.11 lbs. three came on jigs on the breaklines in front of brushes or in the brushes and the last two came on cranks. The biggest 3.5 pounder came on the crank. Day two was much easier. We were culling by 9:00 on the jig or a spinnerbait but we were culling 15 inchers with 15.1 inchers!!!. After about 10:00 in the morning it got tough for us and we ran down to piney which was a stupid mistake. If we had stayed up river we probably could have caught a better fish and maybe had enough to win. Oh well, hindsight is 20/20. We had 12.48 yesterday. the fish had their backs out of the water yesterday morning. I dont know where they were the latter half of yesterday!

Congrats on third, at least you got your entry back, gas money and a little more extra.emoThumbsup Jmax

Not bad Beetlespin! I live on the lake and know how tough it can be. I went fishing both Saturday and Sunday. I was in the Rockwood to Iron hill cut thru Sat and had a few good fish but caught some nice crappies on a lizard. Sunday went up the Emory and had a good limit that would have wieghed close to 15 lbs with a 5 lb fish being the biggest. It is like a totally different lake on the upper end.

Third place is something, you done good.

Ditto to the congrats on 3rd...a pound or so more and you had the win. Hey beetlespin, did you get a red Legend?
