Today was just to nice of a day to work!

Carl and I took the day off to head back to Lake Weiss after missing fishing on Monday.

My favorite dock which I have caught fish on all weekend with no problems, was covered all day by boats! (DHaun knows this dock well!) The other spots in the cove were COVERED up with folks anchored as well.

We decided to look for new water to fish. Found a small cove with a deeper channel, and absolutley smoked'em today! Not another boat in site! Caught 58 keeper slabs.

Caught all of the fish casting, most were caught on a Kalin's black/chartuese twirl tail jig with 1/16 lead head.

Caught 95% of the fish in 5- 8 feet of water, temp was 60+.

Great report Jack - You sure did rip-em today! Were you fishing a brushpile, channel ledge, point, or did you find another dock near deep water?

Great job, Jack.... many years ago, late 60's, we were catching them that weighed 3 lbs. and that was off docks... but due to fishing pressure they are not that large now....but good fish to be caught. Fishermen as far as Ohio would come down and stay a week, catch limits, dress um, and carry them back home by the freezer full... nice catch....FA

David,

To answer your questions.....ALL OF THE ABOVE!

We just thought it was crowded when You and I fished this weekend!

Today was 10 times worse!

But on a good note......

There was not another boat in site where we caught the fish today!

And for the record, my motor ran PERFECT today! emoUpsmile

Great Jack - Your on some fish, have a great pattern, motor is acting right, and know a fine spot on Weiss where there are no other boats - Way to go - This might be a week to take off work! emoThumbsup
