Weiss Lake 3/6/2007

I got a chance to get out with my dad today from 7:30-5:00 on Weiss. I didn't call to confirm this but I'd say the water is only 2ft shy of full pool. I have a BFL coming up in a few weeks @ Weiss so I've been trying to spend a little more time there while the water's still low. Fishing has been up and down for me over the past couple of weeks, but it should only get better w/ the rising water level and water temps. Today we had over 20 keepers/mix of spotted bass and bottom feeding SLIM BALLS emoDoh sorry I mean Largemouths. Best five today weighed 17-18lbs. The two hollow heads in the picture weighed 5lb and 6+....

We stumbled on a number of patterns throughout the day, we had numerous fish on Crankbaits, Vibra Jigs (Chatterbaits), Flippin, and Jerkbaits. I also got to try out the NEW Castaway "SKELETON" Series rod and I was very impressed with the rod, they are lighter and more sensitive than anything I currently own. They will be on the market in a couple of months and will be a HOT item this summer.

I'll be back out on Saturday w/ Skeeterzx200 hopefully we'll have something to report.

Man great fish. Great to here the water is coming up. I suppose to fish out of yellow creek on sunday. What depths and type of cover where you fishing.

P.S. Hush Hush on the Weiss lake fishery. It will be crowded as G-villeemoUpsmile

Of heard of calling fish a bunch of things: Pigs, hogs, etc but SLIM BALLS has got to be the worst yet.emoLaugh
