Hey guys,

I'm fishing at Weiss Lake this saturday and it's the very first time ever fishing on that lake. Can anyone share some pointers on maybe some good spots or types of lures to use down there. Anything would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

Been catching some good spots on a shakey head with either a magnum shakey head worm or T-Mac worm. Humps and ledges below cedar bluff bridge all the way to the lower lake.

Number one be careful! You can mess up in a hurry if you dont no how to run the lake.Fish the shore line grass early,if it is raining you can stay with the grass a lot longer.Pull out the big stick and hit docks. This time of year I would start on the first ones at mouth of cuts and bays, and work my way out to main lake docks.Weiss does have good structure fishing, but you can fish shallow all summer long there.

Flipper is on it. I would only add that you could probably fish the grass all day, as it looks to be cloudy the whole day Saturday. If the sun comes up, hit the docks with jig or chatterbait and have a ball. You can catch some great big ole spots on the main lake.

ditto to what the above two said, start in the grass below the 48 bridge and than move to the docks.

as for running, just turn your depth finder off and if you see a stump...move. ha.

I grew up fishing over there and you are getting good things to do. Have a dark worm with you when pitching under the docks, sometimes that darker color gives them a better reaction than the more natural colors. As others have said, be very careful running over there, it is not someplace you want to get out of the channels at full speed and even when in the channels understand you might have to dodge something in there. There are some big fish being caught this year on Weiss so just like the Chick be prepared.
