I got in yesterday from St. Luise at 10:30 and when I got home said "Hello" to the wife, kissed her and said I was going fishing. I sat there in those meeting up in St. Louise and the whole time I kept seeing those bass blow up on a puppy ever time I closed my eyes to blink. I had a hard time paying attention to what was going on.

I got out there at about noon after eating and putting everything away and the water is down a good two foot I'd say so I wasn't sure how it would effect the fish I was on. I came up to the first flat off a point and hit it with a puppy and a silver buddy and did not get a hit. Moved over to another piont off the flat and nothing on the puppy but when changed to the buddy I caught four on five casts. They were still there just out a little farther. I than moved over to another point that I almost didn't fish because the water was so low I could see the bottom, Couldn't fish the buddy becuase it was too shollow so I went back to the puppy and it hardly hit the water when a nice 2 lber nailed it. I caught about five on that point also. The shad was in there by the thousands but only saw bass come up twice in four hours chasing them. It may had been the time, I usually go in the morning and by that time I was done and heading home.

I repeated this proccess over the next four hours and caught about 30 to 35 bass in all . The truth is the two pounder I mentioned earlier was the only keeper I caught the whole time but it was still a lot of fun. I caught about half on the puppy and half on the buddy. Before I left I did go up Wolftever and try the bluffs with a worm and only managed one on it in about 15 feet emoScratch .

With the water going down my grass shallow pattern I feel will not hold but I also believe that as the shad move the bass will follow them so maybe I can keep on them that wayemoSmile. How did you guys do this week end that went? Surely there was more guys going than what was posted.

Hiwassee was down by almost 3 feet with absolutely zero current. We fished schools on secondary points off the main channel in 8-12 feet for spots and deep weeds behind Hiwassee Island for a couple fat largemouth. It was a good opportunity to note locations of cover, such a crappie brushpiles, that are usually submerged.
