Wet Sand or Alternative?

My trailer is significantly less shiney and sparkly than the rest of my boat. I know that the trailer finished matched the boat at one point. My question is, do you think wet sanding would bring this back to its original finish? Or is there a product that would work to achieve this?

If wetsanding is needed....Any advice? I'm pretty handy, however it does appear that the previous owner tried this on one are of the back of the boat and did not do a good job and ate through the clear coat (you can see that in the pictures). So that makes me a bit nervous!

Any tips would be great on how to make it shine again!

I should have been more specific in my original post. The area of concern is not the trailer itself, that is still in good shape, it is the fiberglass fenders. You can see in the picture how dull they look, the boat still shines like new (in the sun anyway!), and the fenders used to as well, i want to bring them back so they match.

Wet sanding does take a long time to do and you have to know when to stop. My advice is that just buy a new trailer because depending on how much time you have to do the job and if the old paint job is showing then it’s time to get a new trailer. When you sand if you see the color of your paint coming off while sanding. If you have any questions feel free to in box me

Wet sand a small area 1st with 400 then wipe down with acetone and try a clear coat spray. Should come back like new. Much cheaper than a new trailer!
