Ever wonder if you have the worst job in the world? Some of you guys work in offices and some work outside. Whats the view like from where you work? Does the weather affect your job? Maybe, maybe not. Just wondering if anyone would like a new job. I hear they are hiring some. Try this out.

... yep! Had an ex brother in law that did that. He painted the towers. He was ok though, most of the time he was already about that high anyway so it didn't bother to him!

That guy an't right. I use to work in maintenance at a local factory. I was outside the plant, up in a bucket, working on a dust colletor system when my wrench slipped, the gate on the bucket opened, and I shot out and fell to the concret below. Broke both arms, and my teeth and mouth. Anything can happen in a split second and in his case he would need a parachute or fly like a bird. emoGeezer

Hard to believe but you sometimes just forget where you are.

You turn around to take a normal step and its' not there.

I walked Siskin Steel's crane rails for years doing maintenance; no ropes, no harness, overalls, boots and 25 pound tool belt slung over my shoulder.

One of my older guy's came to me one day (Jim Daniel, I loved him like a father) and said "Steve, you're going to have to lay me off. I froze up there today and I can't go back up."

I basically said, "That's right Jim, you can't go back up because no one will ever call you to work the high line again". I had 12 other men and Jim never got another call to go up.
