What prop do i need

I have 1995 278 stratos with a 1995 jhonson150. It has a 26 pitch prop on it an will only run 50mph at 4800rpm that is all it will do . I put a 6in jack plate on but didnot help. Any help would be grate.

i would try a 24 raker

I tryed a 24 4 blade today. It helped a little on top but did not want to come out of the hole at all.

i had a old 18 foot venture and the 24 raker was good on it but ever boat is different.call billy eaves.he has a prop shop in sale creek.he is about the best around.423-5312569----cell423-316-1761.he can fix u up right.

mine was a 24 3 blade.

I'd suggest trying a 23P first to see how many RPMs you gain.

Did you do any adjusting with the engine height when you put on the JP?

i let it all the way down an come up a inch at a time.

Is there a way to find out this info? I have an older Stratos 201 with a 200. It has a 26P 4 blade. I too have wondered. It does fine now, but when time to change is Billy the go to man to answer all the questions?

I have a friend with a 286 Sprint with a 150 fast strike. His boat will run 55 mph running a 24 raker.
