Should be some Nickajack reports posted after the New Year's Day Tx.

Usually no news is bad news. However, there are always a few holdouts who figure out some fish and stay quiet. From my experience, when any type fishing really gets hot, it usually takes at least two weeks or more for the word to "leak out." And sometimes the hot fishing is over by then. Hence the best philosophy is always "go when you can go." Maybe you'll be the first to unlock the secret code. Also in my experience, the number of trailers in any boat ramp parking lot are one of the most reliable fishing reports. On the first real pretty Spring days, it's not as reliable. But the rest of the year the number of trailers often correlates to the number of fish. And if you see several trailers in the lot on a day like today... emoRain you can bet fishing is GREAT! However you still might have to have "the secret code." emoWelcome

THere is a crew that calls themselves the Nickajack Mafia, but I guess the cold sceers them off the water this time of year...must not be as tough as their name suggests!</p>

Come spring they will post some good reports. Lots of good fish in that lake!</p>

talked with one of my work partners about the nick he fishes 200 plus days a year he said he hasnt gotten into anything worthwhile. a few slabs at best. he is wondering when the bite will be on. He did however catch some good largemouths 1 over 5 lbs on a jerk bait last week no crappie limits yet? He is a relieable source of fishing news for me. well see you all on the water this week Im off until the 2nd yeee haaa load the boat honey we are going fishin !!!!!!!

I have fished the Nick for almost 40 years. The fishing will only get better there from Feb. on. My fishing anyway. Probably the only time the Chick may be better.

Well, the MAFIA was out in full force this weekend and a couple boats had fish with one 18 pound bag.......secret holes seem to be producing well!!!!! hehehehe!!
