Burger and I headed out to the "riverine" area of Wheeler today to try and duplicate his Wildcat winning sack from Friday night.
Well we got out on the river, and began fishing a long island point.... we were throwing Senkos and finesse worms... i soon started throwing a trusty jig. Current was ripping, and we made our first fruitless drift. Then the second... No luck...
We headed down the the mouth of the Flint River, and quickly picked up a nice spot... i threw her in the livewell hoping to catch a mess of them for a hot oil bath. We found fish breaking everyone and had several short strike, but no hook ups... this story continued into the creek, and in several other areas we were fishing.
Fish were short striking all night, and in hindsight we should of probably experimented with other colors, but we didn't cause Burger was too busy laughing at my stupid white boy humor...
Heading to Wilson/Pickwick tommorow with the Infamous Minner, to prepare for the Cabela's King Kat Classic coming up in October... we'll have a full report tommorow night!
