I'm taking the weekend off from deer hunting and going camping/fishing on Wheeler. I'll be camping at Cowford, just upstream from the Browns Ferry Nuke plant. Any advice on what's biting in the area? Looking for cats, crappie, stripes or anything else likely biting in that part of the lake. Any advice, particularly in the nuke plant area?

Hey Mr. Carrol! The nuke would be great if the water was about 10 degrees cooler (upper 40s). The water is down about 4 feet, but the strip should be running around the ledges of the north side of the channel. Wheeler shad are running small this year, I'd throw a 1/4 oz Rat L Trap. Also try stripe fishing around the downstream point of Finley Island, I'd look for saugers in the back channel as well.

Good luck, and let us know how you do!
