Rumors have been churnin' like crazy down here that the Crappie have been going nuts in the Flint Creek area. So CooperJD and I put our bassin ways aside for a day and tried out some crappie. We started by trolling some nice sloughs, that I have heard nice crappie will bed it (i know the Shellcracker do). The first hour was slow, and our only fish was a 10.5 incher the Coop caught on a Spinnerbait. We trolled out of the slough and I caught a nice white bass. We did that again, and I caught another. The rest of the day was really slow, Coop caught some 3 inch Monster Crappie...and I finally hook a nice 11 inch Crappie. I'll post a map on the areas we trolled. Talked to a buddy who was out there, and they only caught a few shorts, and he really knows what he is doing in the ways of Crappie, so I feel better about our catch. Big fish at the ramp was a FAT two pounder off of an isolated stump.
