Yes and yes. Here it is usually the full moon of April. However you have waves of spawners. Some may spawn the full moon of May and June. The major spawn is usually the April one. emoGeezer

It all starts with longer daylight hours. That's the trigger and the rest is affected by water temperatures.

Hey Bill I thought it started in October.
Here's my very uneducated opinion. I think it starts a lot earlier than a lot of people think. I believe it it starts in early March unless we have awfully cold water. I also think the fish spawn in waves with the largest bass first and goes on into June. My largest bass came at the end of March and it was ready to pop.
