I have been asked this question about a hundred times. emoScratch Ever since I mentioned it that has been asked to me by folks I did not even know. I guess they just knew me from here. I feel I should say, Thanks!, for the concern and the memories. I will still be hanging around a while for a couple more months but it could be a little longer then that depending on when my home here sells.
I am by birth a born Navy brat, born into the service with my dad. I moved around all my life. It is hard to say I am from anywhere when you consider how much I have moved. The only constant for me growing up was most of my family relatives were from Arkansas. We often went back there to visit through out my life. When my dad retired he did so in Arkansas. I went with him to Arkansas and finished high school and college there. To me it became home. About 37 years in retail with 26 of those with Wal-Mart had me moving around again after I graduated from college. But the thought of going back home has always been in the back of my mind. The same holds true for my better half. She was born, raised and grew up in Arkansas until she met me and I took her away.
We feel the time has come to go back home. May have been that we lost a young nephew who died this year in a car accident there and we realized family was slipping by us. We have always enjoyed it here. We had our ups and downs like anyone else but over all we have had a really good 13 plus years here. Made tons of friends, love the fishing and hunting, have enjoyed the CFF and the CBA with all the anglers. emoThumbsup I will miss those people and the fishing here.
I am moving to a retirement village. No, not a retirement home. emoTongue It is something like 29,000 acres, 16 miles across. Has eleven lakes and seven golf courses on the property. It is a big place, a town within itself called Hot Springs Village. You can bow hunt for deer right on the Village in the winter months. emoDance The largest lake is called Lake Balboa. I just bought a home on it. I will be able to fish in my back yard, has a boat dock, sea wall, boat lift and is sitting about dead middle of the one thousand acre lake on an island. You see water out every window in the home. emoToast It is my forever home. When I leave there they will be carrying me out.
I feel very blessed to be able to do this. God has been good to me.
Not only is this a wonderful place to live and enjoy what we love but it is 10 miles away from Lake Ouachita, 20 minutes from Lake Hamilton, about 40 minutes from Lake De'Gray and several more lakes within easy driving distance that I fished when I was younger. When you start considering all of this you can see why I am moving. You all are blessed here too. We often take for granted our lakes, streams and woods we all use and enjoy. TN is a great state, as well as GA and Al. I am not moving due to any issue where I am, but just a desire to go home, nearer to family.
Wishing you all tight lines, full live wells and great hunting. emoAngler Jmax
