Took my new fishing buddy back to the shade south of the ramp below Chick dam and was shocked the water level’s down about 4-5 feet. Anyone know what’s going on? Are they back at a normal level? Are they prepping for big rains?

TVA app is showing 681.18 now so that is just about a foot under summer pool for the reservoir elevation.

They were dumping tons of water from the rains we had several weeks ago. Looking at the level chart it looks like they released too much. No rain in the forecast besides afternoon showers so they won't be generating if they don't have to

The TVA app is showing 634+ at the river park so you must have been down there when they were spilling water the time before and the river was higher then.

Chick was not generating and Nickajack was pulling water. Can fluctuate hourly this time of year. If you notice the TVAs schedule notes subject to change at anytime no matter what the app says.

My uncle called TVA and they said that their machines miscalculated how much water to pull out of Chickamauga and ended up pulling too much out.

There can be pretty big fluctuations down there for sure. That is why you have to be careful putting in a boat when it is low and you are by yourself. I've seen a few people slip and fall pretty hard on the ramp when stepping in the Gunk!
