I took my great-nephew out Saturday morning. Saw two squirrels at the bottom of the mountain and got both of them, both boars. Didn't see a thing up high. There's plenty of hickory nuts, and they're cutting down low. Possible lack of food during the winter could have killed some off. First of season sure ain't like it was last year. Two squirrels just barely filled my hollow tooth, but they were good eating, and the boy had a great time. He found a shed antler, so that made his trip.
