This morning below pinky's point I was expecting to see some grass reaching the surface. Three more shallow spots that are 6 feet deep had slick bottoms. Are we missing a lot of grass or is it still a little bit early?

Im finding new grass everywhere I fish that historically has grass. Its just about 4-8 inches long right now. I think when we get a week of solid sunlight and higher temps it will take off like crazy.

Due to high water, later cold, lots of rain, muddier water, the light penetration is far less this year. In turn that has slowed the grass growth. It is still there but far behind last year. Once the water stabilizes and clears it will get to growing faster. Patience grasshopper. emoGeezer Jmax

Little too early to be on the surface but like mentioned above with the amount of rain we have had causing high water flow and muddy water it will be behind in places this year. There is plenty growing though, just have to find it will your graph

Yeah I thought it seemed a little behind where it was this time last year. Guess I'm just too anxious to see it. Thanks Fellas.

There is a ton of grass, mostly just in 7-10 feet, but it is growing 4-6 feet tall. There are a lot of places where it would have probably topped out but boats keep chewing it up.

Yeah, I'm seeing that too. Yesterday I found spots like the point going in to Chester Frost where it is just getting started. Some places have plenty and some are barely growing. Bright sunshine today will get it going.
