We`ve got a club tx next weekend out of Dayton and I was wondering how the grass on the lower end(H
arrison Bay on down ) compares to the rest of the river on up..
I usually stay from Sale or Soddy on up just because I don`t know anything about the Bay area on down. Might make the run if I knew a little more about the lower end.
what about the Hiwassee ?

Best grass is on any College campus.

Kidding!

I hear Hiwassee is good but havent ran there in a long time.

I kinda figured that was coming after I posted it....from my experience a long...long...loonnnggg time ago....better not..... probably on Homeland Security terrorist list now any way ...
I used to see alot from the highway long ago but I haven`t tried it much lately....Jason might know ...that`s his area I believe....
Hey Jason !!!

Coming down from Dayton, stop at the point? and go down the bank to the left. (Best I know how to tell you because we come from the other direction) You can see the bridge from there. There are several pockets that tend to hold some good ones.

Seriously, your best bet is around the Hiwassee Island. The submerged grass (12' - 25+') on the backside usually has current and the interior, or cove, on the Hiwassee side of the island usually tops out about now. I haven't been there yet this year but plan to check it out soon. Someone who has been recently would be more reliable.

...or the submerged ponds in the back of Sale Creek. The one with all the logs is usally good for a few quality fish and you might pick one or two up on the point.

Before I steer you wrong, is Sale Creek the one directly across the river from Grasshopper? That is the one I'm thinking of.

thats a good spot I`d forgot about Jason I`ll check it out.

I`m pleading the Fifth on that other stuff.....W`s Boys are watchin`
