I am buying a 2005 triton today from a private party and I want to take it to get it serviced/maintained. I was wondering if anyone has any reccomendations on where to go and any idea how much it will cost?

That really depends on how fast you want it back. There are several good mechanics in town. Unfortunately, it seems most make you wait for several weeks before they work on your boat.
Keep in mind too, now is the busy time for mechanics as people start putting their boats up for the winter.
What kind of motor is on it?

I have been fortunate to be able to do the routine maint on mine.

FWIW, a friend just had to get some gear work done. Had it at Franklin's. They had the parts for over a month before they did the work, but kept telling I'm "next week, next week"
This is not a bash, just an observation.

Call the guys at Fish n Fun. They will take care of you. Great bunch of guys.

So far I had to have a new power head and the hydrolics worked on in my boat and Fin n Fun was pretty fast.
Slowest part was waiting on my power head from Yamaha, once that came in it was two days.
On the hydrolics, it was out as my buddy was coming off the water and he took it there and they fixed it the same day.
So far i am completely satisfied with them.

A little bit of a drive but Bunch Marine, 865-376-7227.
We keep your boat inside at night and schedule all service so you won't have much if any down time. For basic service we can do it while you wait (you may have to go get a biscuit or something while you wait though).

Sorry to hear of a bad experience at Franklin. They have worked on mine 4 times and always been quick and efficient.
