I have a 20' Stratos that got dinged up last Saturday in the river. We were just floating with the current and scraped over a large piece of concrete or rock. Never did see it.
Anyway, the damaged area is right on the edge of the bottom of the boat, to the left of the plug a little ways. The gel coat was chipped down to the fiberglass and a tiny bit of glass was scuffed. The dimensions of this area are about 1/4' x 1/2". So it is pretty small and appears to be cosmetic in nature but still, the glass is showing and it's driving me crazy.
There is another spot further under the boat where the gel coat was chipped but not as large. The problem is that there may be other places as well but the runners on the trailer prevent me from seeing them.
Who and where would you recommend that I take the boat to for an inspection and work done if need be?
Thanks
By the way, we had floated that area of the river at least a dozen times Saturday morning before I scraped over the rock. It was in about 8 feet of water. I noticed the water level had dropped about a foot after the incident occurred. Anyway, lesson learned. I've had this boat since 2009. I've fished the river numerous times, taken it to lakes Seminole and Rodman (which are both full of standing timber) and fished our lake in high and low water conditions hundreds of times. This is the first time that the gel coat has been chipped. Again, I have a sick feeling in my guts right about now.
