Just want to know you guys opinion. Im looking to upgrade to A side imaging and down imaging sonar and i dont want to spend more than 1000. What would be the best bang for the buck . I want GPS and color too. Does not have to be a huge screen. Thanks in advance for your input!!!

HB 798 all the way! Theyre on sale right now. Check online at cabelas, academy, gander mountain, and sportsmans warehouse. Cant remember who has it cheapest right now. You should be able to get for around $800 or so.

Lowrance @ BassPro...Price reduced to like 675$ with a 100$ rebate.......... emoGeezer emoUSA

New Unit and $1,000 Max Budget you only have one choice for Side Imaging that's the Humminbird 798c. It's got it all Color, GPS Mapping, Side Imaging, Down Imaging and Switchfire 2D Sonar all built in one simple and easy to install unit.

I concur....ditto ditto 798 Bird is the ONLY way to go for that money and really you need nothing more!!!

honestly wade I would go with the humminbird. I would probably look for a used 898 that could be bought in that price range. The screen on the 798 is a little tough to use on the the side imaging if you are in deep water. Just not as easy to use with that small screen as I thought it would be. you are welcome to ride with me sometime soon if you want to check out the 798

you can find some great deals right now on the hds gen 1 units...I have three and love them.
