I am kinda new to catfishin and was just wanting to know the best way to rig for drifting and the best rig for anchoring. All help is greatly app.

If you are anchoring at the Nuke plant I suggest a heavy Mushroom type anchor.. Less likely to get hung up, You will need every bit of a 100' anchor rope.

About any way you rig your hook, line, leader, sinker will work. Some are just better than others at staying untangled. I posted a drawing of how I rig that eliminates 95% of all tangles and twists. I will search for it and post it.

Here is something else you may want to add to the anchor rope. Add a piece of foam noodle about 12 inches long to the end of your anchor line then tie a loop in the end of your anchor line, place this loop over a "T" cleat that you fasten to the front of your boat. When you get hold of a large cat, he is going to go downstream, your line may not be big enough to hoist him toward the boat in the current, simpy unhook the end of your anchor rope and drop it in the water then you can use your trolling motor or boat motor to run the big cat down. When you have him safely in the boat, go back and retrieve your anchor rope, it will be on the end of the bright noodle that you tied the rope to. This way you can attach the anchor back to your boat and fish the same hole at the same place again and again.
