It was in the low twenties on the Mountain this morning, Plus I was so still very sleepy. I cut the Alarm off for a snoozed of another couple hours. I finally got to the property at about 9:30 am. It was still only 23 to 26 degrees. Five minutes in the stand the deer started pouring in, First two does walked under me. Then in less than ten minutes a spike came in and sniffed my ladder of the treestand I just got into. Then hung around the tree below me for about ten minutes. More came and they came in every few minutes. I heard several in the thickets I never saw but between 9:30 until 12:30 Ten (10) deer from my stand and three (3) on the ground. I could see and hear deer as I got down. I was just way too cold sitting there watching and not shooting.

I was heading back to get into the Ladder stand at about 4:00pm. I saw a very nice shooter Buck entering the area. The activity was much less in the PM. I was listening to a deer bleating behind me and turned looking downwind to try to spot another deer walking through the thickets. I turned back and there stood a small fork-antlered buck tearing at a tree in my shooting zone. I could have killed about eight of the Fifteen I saw.

I am trying to figure out why I go. It must be that I am Trophy hunting or just getting out there and watching the wonderful wonders of Nature.

The Next two days are for the June-a-vials, So I will rest up for Monday. I may get there on time and see what I am actually after by getting there early.
