As many of you know, the last few years have been misfortune for my CFF fishing. Afterhaving some cancer removed late last season,I was eagerly looking forward to the season, when the latest turn in my journey occurred. Driving from my office in Lafayette to Fort Oglethorpe I was following a fellow employee who had some cubiclewalls in the back of his truck. One of them blew out, so I turned on my hazards, stopped, put my truck in park, andprepared to exitmy truck and move it out of the road as to avoid any damage to vehicles or equipment. I took one last glance in the mirror and saw a van a ways back, then noticed they were not slowing down or changing lanes. Next thing I remember was being launched upward andhitting my head on something in the vehicle and that concussed feeling. After that I exitedvehicle. From what my friend said, I looked at the other driver, who had a little girl in his arms, took 3-4 steps, then fell down on one knee. As he ran up and asked me how I was, I saw blood coming from my nose, and figured it was broke. I don't remember much more other than talking to my wife, getting in the ambulance, and heading to the hospital.

To make a long story short,BigRed,my F-150 I bought new in 2004 is more than likely totaled. Apparently, the other driver, who had a baby in the car, was looking at his phone and not paying attention when he hit me going 30-35 miles per hour. If I had been out of my vehicle, he would have likely killed me. They took me to the hospital andchecked me out, and I have a few facial lacerations, several abrasions, anasty bruise on the left tricepof the arm I had surgically repaired in 2012, and one on my calf. I am sure I will be sorein the morning, as my neck and lower back are stiff if I sit too long. At this point, I could not make it back to Lafayette to the towing company so I hope most of my other belongings are save, minus the tools that were ejected from my vehicle as my tool box in the back apparently exploded.

Keep me in your prayers. While Itry and work hard on the CFF tournament committee, I really was looking forward to competing this season. I knowmy God hasa plan for me, but sometimes it's hard to be still and see what it is.
