Why would someone move about 300lbs. of rocks of the top of and around my catfishing bedding boxes for no apparent reason emoScratch ? I put out some catfish bedding boxes for noodling this year and swung by to check on them only to find someone had dug them up. They didn't harm them or damage them in anyway just removed all the rocks from on top of an around them. Guess they needed a workout or thought I needed to do it all over again!! Anyone wanna move some rocks today? LOL!!

We have tried to get someone to take a few of us " noodling " to no prevail. Would you be willing to show a few of us guys with no sense how and where to get the hide tore off our arms????

This just sounds like a perfectly good excuse to have a few too many emoBeer ... followed closely by the time-honored saying, "Hey ya'll ... watch 'is!!!"

Heck yeah FF - count me in for a video taping session when flip sticks his entire arm into one of those big boys' mouths!!! Better flip than me ... emoRolleyes emoLaugh

I'll see what we can drum up for this summer. The holes will change from year to year so I will have to scope them out through May and will have some lined up for June and July. Once one pair has discovered a hole it is like the grand opening for a maternity ward. Fish will practically wait in line for the pair to leave and they will come in within the next couple days. The process typically goes like this. The male and female will move into the hole over night and they will both be there for 3 days. The female will spawn out and leave. The male stays there and guards the nest for around 7 more days till the frye hatch out and leaves. Then like I said typically within 3 days another pair will move right into the same hole during the night. This starts on the rocks early in the season and moves to concrete pads and boat ramps later in the summer. The species also moves in time frames, channel cat at the beginning in a very low concentration(not many if any caught), blues next with lots of them(meanest out of the bunch), them the flatheads come in last. They will mix times somewhat but this is what I have experienced as well as alot of others I have talked to.

Rob, you know that if I'm letting a big Catfish swallow my hand then I have to get myself well "prepared" first. I cant wait, glad to see BPrice is game too, I think Skeeter was wanting to do this too. We look forward to it heath j, thanks for the offer.

I got a feeling that if theres enough " preparing" involved, ole RR will get right in the middle of the action.emoBeer emoCool

I have an answer for you.
Some real idiots discovered your buried boxes and thought they had found buried treasures of gold and jewels. I wonder it they are still wishing they had discovered the treasure before someone else beat them to it.

FYI - If you want some real noodling structure, I have access to however many tons of concrete floor slabs you could ever want. They are in all sizes.

The way to build a catfish bedding area would be to lay a short peice or two cross ways and then lay a longer piece over them to form a shelf. The big cats will dig in up under the slabs where you can grab them. When the fry are hatched they will live in the concrete slab end holes for protection. You must have a way to haul the stuff. If you are interested let me know.

I would like for TWRA to get interested in taking several Thousand tons of this stuff and dump it for forever fish habitat.

Wow this sounds like a GOOD trip. I might even be able to make some money off the video of Flip being transported to Erlanger to have a catfish removed from his arm! Then again the catfish might draw blood and just pass out!
